As the Practice Manager at Sun Psychiatry Santa Barbara, I work to ensure that all patients are supported and connected both to their providers and to reliable, caring staff who act in their best interests. As a Santa Barbara native, having my own family here, and working in mental health for over 25 years, I am intimately aware of both resources and challenges presented in obtaining health care here.

At CSULB, I obtained my bachelor’s degrees in psychology and disability rights. I went on to complete a master’s degree at CSPP, San Diego in psychophysiology and biofeedback. After, I became an adjunct professor of psychology and participated in innovative work in the development of autism treatment, ADHD neurofeedback research, and pain management education and treatment protocols. 

I continued my professional development by completing a degree in drug and alcohol counseling. Following this, I worked at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in psychiatric services for nearly a decade. Beginning at their residential treatment center for chemical dependency and dual diagnosis, and then on their inpatient acute care unit as utilization review and case management.

In addition, I am AAPC certified in medical coding and billing. This offers me an increased understanding of insurance, allowing me another avenue to advocate for individuals in need of care.
