Founder and Lead Practitioner
At the heart of Sun Psychiatry is my vision for a comprehensive and personalized approach to psychiatric care. I've always believed in looking beyond traditional definitions and symptoms, focusing on individualized pathways for each patient's mental and physical wellness.
My journey began at UCLA, and my initial experiences in psychiatric care were at the West LA VA, where I saw firsthand the profound impact of mental health on overall well-being. I graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in 1992. After graduating, I became a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse at Cedars-Sinai, as well as UCLA.
In 1999, I graduated UCLA with a Master's of Science in Nursing. Over the years, I've delved into various medical specialties, including Peri-operative Care, and educator for the Valley Children's Hospital. I returned to my specialty, Psychiatry, in 2013.
Sun Psychiatry Santa Barbara was founded in 2021, when I had the opportunity to take over from a retired psychiatrist. With over 13 years dedicated to psychiatric care, I have grown the practice using my unique approach to mental health care.
"I think I'll be a nurse when I get big. I'll work in a hospital and take care of all the people."
